Yes. International applicants may apply provided that they meet the application requirements announced for the relevant admission period.
6. What is the Turkish language requirement for international applicants?
International applicants applying to Master's, Doctoral or Proficiency in Art programs are required to obtain a minimum score of 70 on the TÖMER Turkish Proficiency Examination. 7. How are the entrance examinations conducted?
Entrance examinations and evaluation methods vary depending on the program. 9. I have been admitted to the entrance examination. How can I complete my registration?
New student registrations are completed in person during the registration period specified in the Academic Calendar. The documents required for registration are listed under the "Registration" section of the Graduate School's website. Registration may also be completed by an authorized representative holding a notarized power of attorney.
CURRENT STUDENTS
1. How do I register for courses?
Course registration is completed through the University's Student Information System during the registration period specified in the Academic Calendar.
2. When should I submit my thesis proposal?
The thesis proposal process is carried out in accordance with the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations. In addition, thesis proposals must be submitted to the Graduate School within the deadlines specified in the Graduate Academic Calendar announced each year. Therefore, students are advised to carefully follow the relevant deadlines.
According to Article 26 of the Regulations for Master's students:
Article 26 (1): The thesis/artwork proposal must be submitted no later than the end of the second semester.
According to Article 41 of the Regulations for Doctoral and Proficiency in Art students:
Article 41 (1): Students who successfully complete the qualifying examination must orally defend their thesis proposal, including the purpose, methodology and research plan of their study, before the Thesis Monitoring Committee within six months. The thesis proposal must be submitted to the committee members at least fifteen days before the oral defense.

4. What is the duration of the Master's, Doctoral and Proficiency in Art programs?
According to the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations, the study periods are as follows:
Article 24 (1): The normal duration of a Master's program is four semesters (excluding any scientific preparation period), beginning from the semester in which the courses are first offered. The maximum duration for completion is six semesters.
Article 37 (1): For students admitted to a Doctoral program with a Master's degree, the normal duration is eight semesters (excluding any scientific preparation period), beginning from the semester in which the courses are first offered. The maximum completion period is twelve semesters.
5. What publication requirement must be fulfilled before the thesis defense in Doctoral/Proficiency in Art programs?
In order to be eligible for the thesis defense examination, Doctoral/Proficiency in Art students must have at least one research article related to their thesis, on which they are the first author, either published or accepted for publication in a journal indexed in SSCI, SCI, SCI-Expanded, AHCI, ESCI, SCOPUS, ERIC, H.W. Wilson Full Text, or included in the ULAKBİM TR Index.
Accordingly, a copy of the first page of the published article or the letter of acceptance must be included in the Appendices section of the thesis.

7. How can I obtain a student certificate?
A student certificate can be obtained through e-Government (e-Devlet) or the University's Student Information System.

Your transcript can be obtained through the University's Student Information System or e-Government (e-Devlet).
9. Under what circumstances can I take a leave of absence?
According to the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations, the conditions for leave of absence are as follows:
Leave of Absence
Article 50 (1): Students may be granted a leave of absence by decision of the Graduate School Administrative Board for a maximum of two semesters (excluding health-related leave) due to health, childbirth, military service, or educational purposes at higher education institutions in Türkiye or abroad. In compulsory cases, this period may be extended. Periods of leave are not counted toward the maximum duration of study.
Article 50 (2): Students requesting a leave of absence for the reasons stated above must submit a petition together with supporting documents to the relevant Department/Division no later than the end of the course add/drop period of the relevant semester. The Department/Division forwards the request to the Graduate School together with the supervisor's opinion. Applications submitted after the add/drop period will not be processed.
