On a cold January day in Ankara, the “Blue-White Project on the Road to Porcelain” was born as a sustainable world project that embraces all ceramic artists, where the past and the future meet, with the dream of providing an opportunity for cross-border meetings.
In line with its objectives, the first exhibitions and events with ceramic artists invited from Turkey, the Netherlands and Italy met with tens of thousands of viewers four times in 2023-2024 in Iznik, one of the leading centers of ceramic production in Turkey, the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara, Çanakkale and Istanbul Galataport. The events are organized each time with an inclusive approach that includes new artists and new works, and aims to share all the cultural colors of the geography in which we live, including contemporary ceramic artists, masters of traditional art, young talents and artists who are no longer with us. The diversity in ceramic art, which is seen as a narrow field, and the richness created by this diversity is really worth seeing.
The first cross-border stop of our project, which started in Turkey, was Amsterdam, the Netherlands on October 26, 2024. For about four months, the audience had the chance to see blue and white ceramic works at Yunus Emre Enstitüsü. In addition to this important city, it is known that Delft, the charming town of the Netherlands, has a very special place in terms of ceramic art in its centuries-long journey from China, the homeland of porcelain, to Europe. The town of Delft, which still maintains its importance as a center that has left its mark on the beauty of porcelain for ceramic artists with its unique productions, maintains its charm with its environment where traditional and contemporary works are blended together. Blue White on the Road to Porcelain continues its world journey with its sixth exhibition to be opened at the Municipal Art Gallery in Delft. We invite all art lovers to this charming ceramic town to see blue-white ceramics between June 02 - July 14, 2025.
